Calcium phosphite is made by reaction between calcium hydroxide and phosphorous acid:
Ca(OH)2 + H3PO3 = CaHPO3.H2O + H2O
Calcium Phosphite Monohydrate is mainly used to prepare anti-rust coatings with properties of non-toxic, strong adhesion, good flexibility and strong hiding power. Calcium phosphite can also be used as fertilizer, food/feed additive, anti-oxidant and raw material for pharmaceuticals.
