CAS No.: 13977-65-6 EC No.:(not available)
Molecular Weight: 120.078
Molecular Formula: KH2PO3
Structural Formula:
Monopotassium phosphite can be obtained by neutralization reaction between phosphorous acid (H3PO3) and potassium hydroxide (or potassium carbonate)
H3PO3+KOH→KH2PO3+H2O
or
2H3PO3+K2CO3→2KH2PO3+CO2+H2O
APPLICATION1) Monopotassium phosphite is used in formulation of foliar fertilizer and water-soluble fertilizer.
2) Monopotassium phosphite is used as fungicide to control Oomycetes (esp. Phytophthora sp), similar to fosetyl aluminium (Aliette).
